Architecture shaped by the geological layers of the Saudi landscape

JAX Strata draws its identity from the layered rock formations of the Saudi landscape, translating their depth, material variation, and permanence into a contemporary residential architecture within Diriyah’s JAX District.

The façade develops through pronounced horizontal layers of natural stone, composed in warm mineral tones inspired by the surrounding terrain. Subtle shifts in projection, texture, and depth allow each stratum to respond differently to light, giving the elevation a sense of formation rather than assembly. The architecture appears grounded within its site, as though accumulated gradually over time rather than placed upon it.

Its material palette establishes a quiet connection with Diriyah and the earthen character of Saudi architecture without reproducing historic forms. Heritage is instead expressed through mass, tone, texture, and proportion, allowing the building to remain unmistakably contemporary.
